About me

I was born and raised in Echo Park, Los Angeles to Khmer refugees who fled the Cambodian Genocide by way of refugee camps in Thailand. After attending LAUSD schools, I received a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in Human Resources and Management with a minor in History. After working as an Operations Administrator for three years in a mid-level surveillance firm, I received my social studies teaching credential from California State University, Los Angeles. I taught social studies (experience in World History, US History, Government, Economics, AP Government, Ethnic Studies, Career Exploration, AVID 1, AVID 3, and Leadership) for six years at Thomas Jefferson High School before becoming an Instructional Coach at Dr. Maya Angelou Community High School. I am currently working on my M.Ed. and Administrative Credential at the University of California, Los Angeles's PLI program.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, eating, hikes, museums, theater, learning about new cultures and languages, gardening, traveling, volunteering, and hanging out with friends, family, husband, my two cats (Russian Blue and Siamese), and my French Bulldog. I have visited Cambodia (regularly to connect with family), Vietnam, England, France, Italy, Spain, and Mexico, but hope to visit many more in the future.

How may i help you?
