Guadalupe Gaxiola

Dear families/students,

My name is Guadalupe Gaxiola, I am the 9th grade counselor at Dr. Maya Angelou Community High school. I grew up in East Los Angeles. Through my high school experience, I saw the need of support for students to succeed socially, emotionally and academically. This is the reason I decided to pursue a career in Counseling.

I received my Bachelors degree in Sociology at the University of California, Riverside. On February 2019, I graduated with my Masters Degree in Educational Counseling from University of La Verne.

This is my first year working at Dr. Maya. Is been a pleasure to work with great staff and with a community like South Central. I enjoy helping students socially, emotionally and academically. I want students to pursue their goals and highest potential, so they are prepared for graduation and for life once they graduate.
